Treasury Hunt Saturday

The holiday weekend has me forgetting what day of the week it is! I almost forgot it's time for Treasury Hunt Saturday, and that would have been tragic. Including the treasuries from today, Glass Addictions was featured in FIVE treasuries for the week!

Maybeads, one of my Fire Divas, curated this adorable treasury called Wrap It Up and included Desire, one of my "lampworkified" keys. It's still active, so please give it some Click and Comment love!

Lauren (Maybeads) makes the cutest and often hilarious lampwork critters. Peppermint the Penguin would have loved to have been included in the treasury! While you are visiting with Peppermint, make sure you look at her HILARIOUS shop banner.

Another Fire Diva, Lea of LAJewelryDesigns, curated Diva Central (still active!) and featured my Ethereal Enclosure focal in this drool worthy collection of beads by the Fire Divas.

Lea's Boro Focal Bead called Ocean Ridge would look stunning in this collection of beads.

Janel, another of my Diva teammates created the Fire Divas Thanksgiving Challenge treasury and included my Modern Simplicity necklace in this stunning treasury.

I have lots of Janel's beads on my wishlist, it's difficult to choose just one. So I will show Red with Metallic Dots. Isn't it delicious?

Enroute curated this GORGEOUS treasury called Sugar Plums Dancing. The purples are a visual treat. My Purple is for Royalty earrings were included with all the other lovely items in this treasury.

Enroute's Seville earrings would make a gorgeous and appreciated gift...especially for me ;o)

Hawkwolf curated Christmas Maille in a tribute to chainmaille creations. He included my Medieval Queen necklace with all these awesome creations.

I think this Gothic/Pirate Skull and Crossbones chainmaille bracelet is super cool! I would totally wear it.

That's all of them! Have a great week and don't forget only 25 more shopping days until Christmas!

HOT Video

No, I'm not spamming with suggestive blog posts. I came across this super awesome video called Glass is Liquid. It really is a visual delight and the music is really good too.

I'm just jealous I don't look this hot while making beads ;o)

Gift Giving and we have a winner!

After a random drawing, Rosebud won the most recent Step by Step Wire Jewelry magazine! Congrats! Email me jennycameron_glassaholic (at) yahoo.com with your address.

Did you realize Christmas is only 31 days away? I keep checking the number of days and STILL can't believe how quickly it's coming! In an effort to make your gift giving easier and avoid the malls and even avoid wrapping your purchases, I have been adding more jewelry to the shop. I have also added a $50 and under gift section.

I have several items still needing to be photographed and added to my etsy shop. Currently my 1000markets shop is still open, but I am considering moving everything to etsy. So if you prefer Amazon payments over paypal and you've had your eye on something in my 1000 Markets shop, now is the time to act.

Every single item in both shops ships free to anywhere on Earth. Sorry, but I cannot ship to the space station or other planets. If your purchase is a gift, I would be thrilled to wrap it for you.

I am super excited about the necklace design below. I think it is stunning in its simplicity. It can be worn with anything but doesn't look like what everyone else is wearing. AND I am able to price it at $25! That's right. A piece of artisan made sterling silver and lampwork jewelry, free shipping and free gift wrap for only $25. This is not a black Friday deal. This is an every single day I love my customers kind of deal.

Price of Silver

The chart below shows the fluctuations in the price of silver for 2009. Silver is my favorite metal to work with. As you can see, the price has increased dramatically since the beginning of the year when it was down to about $11 per ounce. It is now at about $18.50 per ounce.

So far I have not increased prices because it seems the end of each year always sees a spike and I should have enough silver to get me through to the beginning of next year. However, if silver continues to rise in value, I will have to increase prices of my silver jewelry in January or February. I am not happy about this, but it's one of the "evils" of creating with precious metals. Thank goodness I don't work with gold. OUCH!

If you would like to keep track of the silver spot price each day, you can find it plus other metals at www.kitco.com
